Question After The Shoot...

I have been looking for info about what to do after a photo shoot.

Do I offer low res copies of the shots that they can have for viewing on their computer monitor.
Do I offer picture packages of certain photos like they do for school and studio pictures?
I don't have an expensive printer so do I order the prints from somewhere like Mpix.

Is there a resource somewhere that will show a beginning photographer what they should do when starting a new business.

Thanks in advance for any help.
Corey

I take my laptop to the shoot with me, and then upload the pictures. We go over them and if they really like a picture, I'll make a note to make sure it's one of the ones I edit. I then tell them that they have the option of me mailing them the CD with the images or meeting me to get it, which is what they often do if they are paying, as they also have prints on the way.

You can view the packages I offer here.

If the shoot is TF, then my policy is:

Quote:
When I work TF, I'll go over all the shots with the model, let them pick out 5-10 of their favorites, edit those, and then give them a cd of those shots and any others I have edited, as well as print one of a specific size and include a copywrite release so that they can print them out later.

Thanks for the info.

All the research I've done has been regarding getting started as a photographer and setting your prices, but I was having a hard time searching for what is offered to the client after the photo shoot.

Yeah, I was in that problem too. My sister in law is a photographer, so I used hers as a starting template, then lowered the prices because I'm not even close to her caliber or experience, and then researched what other people in my area were advertising.

However, for my TF, I made that up off the top of my head based on what I thought was fair.
