Yup!

By mounting it that way when you turn the camera vertical you can flip the flash head around and keep the bouncer in the right orientation.

I've been forcing myself to think more and more about keeping the camera horizontal and 16x9 ratio. It seems counter intuitive but so many people now are wanting photos for computer screens, TV screens and electronic frames. Videographers have had to think that way since day one.

Life changes, sometimes it is hard to keep up

Standard memory shots the parents will most likely want, in my humble opinion would be things like:

The celebrant blowing out the candle (or at least attempting to, if they get help, get the helpers)

Opening presents - especially those from the parents and grand parents

If the child clings to a certain toy (or brings the favorite to the party) get a couple of shots of them with the toy

Try for a couple of 'artsy" shots of the child - and if given the opportunity the child and parent embrassing.

Other than that, all the advice so far has been dead on.

When it comes to pricing - what I'm doing at the moment is a select few services for free, especially if they are my guinie pig clients. In return, I am given permission to place their pictures on my website and they have agreed to refer me to others. I'm sure this way of doing things is looked down upon by others, but I figured it was the easiest way for me to get started - espcially in new situations.
