Default Online ordering for Clients - No profit for me. Help?

I apologize in advance if this has been asked... I couldn't find anything.

I am a small-house photographer, only doing it "professionally" on a small scale. I am not at all interested in selling prints or making profit off the printing of the photos I do for my clients. Up until now, I charged a flat rate that included all of their photos in high-res format on a DVD for them to take to a printing shop of their choice to have prints done.

I'd like to find a way to do this online. I know there are dozens of online proofing sites out there that are there to help you SELL photographs for a profit... I am not interested in that. I want somewhere I can upload a clients photos, and send them there to order prints and pay for them themselves.

Any suggestions?

I believe Colorinc offers this through a separate website called unitprints...

I've never really done this, so I can't specifically answer the question.

But.. have you considered creating a private folder in Picasaweb where only they can access it (through the invitation you send them) which will allow them to d/l the image and they can upload it to whatever service they choose?

Granted, it doesn't make it the all-in-one I think you're looking for, but you can always send them links to sites you can recommend. I'm sure someone, though, will give you some good sites soon...

Doesn't SmugMug.com allow that?

Zenfolio also offers that. You pick the profit and it figures the price from there for you. You could just put 0.00 for your profit and let the formula they use set the prices.

Another vote for Zenfolio. I use them and love the way you can control prices. I have several different price lists that range from no markup for galleries of my family and friends, to significant markups for my more artistic galleries. It's great because if you ever decide you want to charge a little extra it's very easy to change.

You can try them for free for 14 days, and if you decide to get a premium account, anyone who already has an account can give you a coupon code for $5 off.

+1 for Zenfolio.

It's what I use. Clients are free to download digital copies of the shoot or order directly from me (through MPIX). For friends/family, I usually only mark-up the products by 10-50%...just enough to cover the cost of my Zenfolio account ($100/year).

You can assign different prices and rules to different galleries. For instance, my Fine Art gallery has a markup of about 400% and no free digital downloads.

SmugMug does the same thing.

PicasaWeb also allows you to order directly via the album. You cannot, however, set the price. You can select from a list of printers though.

Photobiz also has an online store where they can order prints and all that jazz.
