Default Need help asap: Resizing images for client

A client of mine is asking for me to resize some images that I took for her. She is using these for her sex website and the file sizes are too large.
She is offering to pay for the resized images.

Should I charge her or not? I don't know what the protocol is when dealing with resized images.

What would you do?

Is she a client that is likely to give you repeat business or earn you lots of referrals? If so, I'd probably let her know that she's a valued client and do what is likely to be a 5minute job for free.

If she's not likely to find you any more work, I'd be tempted to charge her for an hour (minimum charge) of editing time.

She will most likely be a repeat client.
That is why I was unsure. If she wouldn't be, I wouldn't have a problem charging for editing time.
But she is very understanding of the process, she dabbles in photography. She also said there is no limit to her wallet, which is great for me!

How are you getting the images to her? Has she paid for the full resolution or copies? If yes I would just charge her a small amount to cover a disc if you are using one. If you are emailing them do it for good will. I am assuming you are just going to resize them using a batch process in Photoshop. If she hasn't bought any charge what you would for a 4 x 6 or 5 x 7.

She has already bought the images, and I am emailing the images to her.
Thank you for your help!

charge her for the modifications, anything you do is your time, and time is money.

No problem Osmosis! She chose the perfect photog though, because I am studying to be a sex therapist

Use this as a learning experience. From now on, always make sure you know exactly what the client wants, that way you won't waste your or their time.

Also remember that if it's the file size that's too large, and these are being used for the web, you don't need to save these at extremely high JPG quality levels.

And, don't forget that when you scale down, you always want to clean the image up with something an unsharp mask.

Sorry for the unsolicitied advice, but again; no, I wouldn't charge her, consider the extra time you're spending as a cost of education.

I just had to sign up to respond to this comment. I actually LOL'd here.

What does one have to do with the other?

Being a sex therapist myself, I can honestly say that I don't see the connection. Sorry.
