Default Winning in Photojournalism

I thought I'd post this link for anyone interested in pursuing a career in photojournalism.

The profession is going through a lot of upheaval at the moment, and yet the allure still remains of being able to travel the world and inform the world about important news. Or as some people have asked me, "All you do is take pictures?".

It sometimes seems as if you need to have possess certain traits in order to do well and to succeed. I think some of those traits are coming into stark relief as competition for scarce jobs and assignments heats up, and magazines fold.

I take a look at why it seems some photographers always seem to do well in earning national and international recognition for their work by winning awards, etc..
