Default Stock Photography

I am totally new at this - a question about selling Stock - Can you submit the same pictures to different Stock Companies? I thought it would be that a company would not want to share, but reading elsewhere I have the idea that this is not so... How does that work? I can submit the same pic for several agencies? Thanks JJ

no, you cant do that at any of the sites i've used.
the stock site i sell on asks for exclusive sales rights during the time they are online.
all the sites i've used in the past have made this the rule.

You cannot submit the same photo to different agencies, but similar photos would be okay.

Thank you for the speedy replies.

Candleman: That is what I thought, and that makes sense.

Jim: That probably explains where I read of duplicate submissions.

So if I have a batch of Duck pictures, I can submit some of them to one company and others of the same batch to another company? But why would I? Is it common to submit to more than one company?

Thank you for your time. JJ

i only use one, but thats because its NZ based so i doint have to stuff around with internatuonal tax numbers and all this other crap that comes with US based organisations.

keepin' it local

focus on quality over quantity and you'l sell allot more
i have 170 images and 23 sales in the last year. (not microstock.. so its a fair amount of money )
my friend on the same site has 450 images and around 17 sales... he goes for the quantity approach.
