So I'm currently studying photography at secondary school level and am interested in making some money from it for gear upgrades and was wondering what is the best way to do this?

You have several ways. You could hire yourself out as a service, shooting events and so on. You could also try selling prints of work (landscapes, mainly, but still life and such usually work well too). if you go the first route, you'll wanna be able to market yourself as a capable young person. If you go the second, you need to have a good portfolio that you can show to potential hosts (galleries, coffee shops, etc). Find a place to show that work off.

I don't have much knowledge about photography. My friend who is in college too, earns a good amount in photography. He manages to attend lecture and all the time he is busy with his digital camera. I am really inspired and thinking of getting a jump in the same. Will that work for me?
