Default doing stuff unpaid...?

Hi guys havnt posted for awhile but my photography has started to Pick up. Last month I was flown to Andorra to cover a music festival and this month i've been asked to go to Tenerife to take a few photo's for a travel company. The company is paying for my return flights, my accommodation, transfers and all apartment bills BUT they aren't actually going to pay me any cash. Its only for 1 week and i see it as a good experience and another notch on the CV/portfolio.

Is this how the transition from Amateur to professional progresses?...Do a few paid and the odd one free to get your name on peoples lips?

Any advice will be great, Thanks

This is one of the only ways I would work for "free" and only if I could get some time in the location to do what I want to do once the requirements of the job are met.

You could accept eating in a 5* restaurants as payment

Shooting stuff for stock might also be possible while you're there.

If they are picking up the whole tab and expenses. Make sure you give them limited rights on to your photos and don't sign a work for hire contract where they own all the images you shot during the course of their assignment.
