Default Print pricing for my first engagement session

I am doing my first engagement session this weekend (freebie portfolio building) and I have not set out to offer printed images. However the bride -to - be is a close co worker of mine and has inquired about printed images since she doesn't want to fool with doing in herself. I don't mind doing it but don't want to charge through the roof (I use Mpix on the occasion where I need printed image) but don't want to set myself up for problems later if her word travels and others expect the same "great deal". If that DID happen, would it be fair of me to tell others who may expect the same that she sat for me for portfolio work and my pricing for that is completely different? .

If you're not dead set on making a ton of money, just do cost+rounding up. So if it's 4.49 for an 8x10, round to 5 or 6.

What you can tell her is that you're giving her a "friends only" or "promo" price: others would be different.

Sign up at http://www.whcc.com/. They have pretty great prices for their prints. As for what to charge for each print, you should check out what other local photogs are charging to get an idea.

A good starting point might be $3/4x6, $5/5x7, $7/8x10.
