Default Pricing prints

I have searched high and low on this forum, but can't quite find the help I'm looking for. I have my sessions fees set, but I am trying to establish my pricing for prints. What kind of mark-up is normal? A flat rate? A percentage? I'm also considering packages but not sure what to include in those and for how much. Any input would be welcome! thanks

Did you try searching in the middle? There are print pricing threads literally all over this board.

Percentage mark-ups are tricky.

Flat rates can work.

Packages really depend on a whole lot of factors that we have no idea about.

Default Input factors and questions...

Where are you located?

How extensive is your experience?

What do you shoot (kids, families, weddings)?

What are other photographers rates in your area?

How much competition in your area?

What quality of prints do you sell (professional or consumer lab) ?

You can think about these, or if you answer them we'll have a better idea of what to suggest.

I am located just south of Nashville, TN
I've been shooting for 6 years, but have just recently "come to see the light" in NOT giving images away.
I shoot mainly portraits... some kids, some families, mostly couples recently...engagements... I've done 2 weddings and assisted on a ton.

I don't know what the rates of other photographers in my area are.. i guess i am not really sure how to research that. I've gone to some websites, but I don't find print pricing... just session fees.

I sell professional quality prints

Jim, I haven't searched the middle.. I guess that's a good place to look.

Thanks in advance for your input!
