Default wedding anniversary photography checklist and suggestions

Hi All,
A friend of mine has asked me to shoot her parents (surprise) 25th wedding anniversary party (its a non-paid job.. but she likes my work so far..). I need some advice from all the great folks here on DPS. since I am taking photography very seriously and would eventually (in another 1 year or so..) want to go Pro with it (like starting charging folks for my work..) so the quality of my work is really important to me..
I have previously done some birthday parties (for friends again..) and do lots of outdoor photography..

My current equipment is nikon D700, nikon 24-70mm f2/.8, nikon 70-300mm f/4.5 -f/5.6
and nikon SB900 flash.
My current portfolio
Venue: its a big hall with around 200 people (mostly lit with chandeliers..) and some videographer will be there so his lights as well (mostly on my subjects..i am hoping.. )

I am looking for specific advice from the experts @DPS..

a) I am renting some backup equipment. 70-200 f/2.8 is a must-have I know. Should i also rent 12-24mm f/2.8 nikon lens (given that I have 24-70mm.already.)

b) I am borrowing a friend's d200 body to go with 70-200mm lens. Will that be ok or should i rather rent another d700 body to go with 70-200 lens (VRII) given the low light..

[I for sure will rent another SB900 flash for the backup body for sure. ]

c) Can someone share a wedding anniversary photography checklist.. ( i found a wedding checklist here .. after following this thread..
but couldn't find any wedding anniversary checklist..

Any other things that I should be aware of.. any tips..please let me know,

Thanks a lot in advance,
Rooban

Really depends on what you want to capture. Most anniversary parties are basically just giant dinner parties, so most of your shots will likely be across-the-table-at-dinner shots of a few people at a time: I think your 24-70 will be more than enough for that.

Is there anything specific you want to be doing?

Thanks for your response.. Here are the hall pics.. to give u a better idea of the location.
1) A team of artists will be performing some folk dance..
2) there will be cake-cutting ceremony..
3) and then a lot of the guests will start dancing too.. (around 60-70 people at any given time..u can assume..)
4) not forgetting the entry of the couple where everyone awaits them.. (they will enter through a regular sized door with around 200 people on the door entry awaiting them.. i would like to shoot an all-capturing scene with the focus on the couple.. )
I am not sure if 24-70 can capture these things very well on the wide end.. i might need to do down to 18mm (using 12-24mm etc.) in these cases..
what do you think ?
