I have searched through this forum thinking I had seen a thread about whether to use a contract/agreement or model release with no luck, so if this is a duplicate question I apologize.
I am shooting portraits of 4 minors as a part of their package for little league pictures tonight. I have found a vast array of model releases and contracts all of which are great, but don't know which or how to apply it to my shoot tonight. I do not want to sell their photos except to their parents, family, etc. and would like to use their photos to help build my portfolio both print and via the web. Can someone please advise and even better could someone show me a sample which would cover me under this circumstance? Thank you, Page |

The contract/agreement should just spell out what exactly you are providing (i.e., services) and at what cost, if any. Also, there should be a section that covers copyrights ownership. I can send you copy of a general photography contract that I use, if you want.
If you are wanting to use any photos for your portfolio, for any sort of promotion, or for stock photography, then definitely have the parents sign a model release on behalf of their children, if they agree to it. I'm not 100% sure of the legalities here in the States, but it's just better to be safe than sorry.
