Default Question about rates

Hey so I'm a junior in highschool and I'm in love with photography and am spending time with it whenever I get a chance in my busy schedule. Anyways, a friend has asked me to do her senior pictures and asked what my rates are. This is my first time being paid for my work so I have no idea what to charge. I'm a good photographer, but I'm very amateur, so I'd be charging amateur rates obviously. I was just wondering if there was anyone here who does similar work and could suggest what a fair price to charge. Thanks!

Depends on what you'll be giving her. Prints? Digital files? If so, what sizes?

I charge normal sitting fees and print fees.
My typical sitting fee is $85 for an hour. I then offer different packages for photos. Feel free to check out my web site for my price settings.
It also depends on the area you live in. My rates for where I live now are considerably cheaper than what they were when i lived in the city.
Do some homework and see what others charge in your area

They would be doing the printing themselves, so just digital files. I live in Augusta, Ga, so rates would probably run cheaper than in the city. I'm thinking maybe fifty dollars? Anyways thanks for the advice!

Ah, Disgusta....I used to live there when I was a teen. What high school? I graduated West Side but did one year at Richmond Academy.
