I've avoided it for the longest time, but I finally have to make the plunge and get a professional photo-hosting site. I was originally going to go with either Zenfolio or Smugmug, but I'll take a look at Photoshelter too.

A couple major things I'm looking for are:
1. Metallic print options (for my stop-motion photography stuff...most of it looks better that way)
2. Ability to price digital downloads

I wasn't going to, but two events happened this week that made me change my mind. I sold a very large print to a stranger in D.C. (e-mail and Paypal wasn't real efficient, or professional), and I booked a huge non-profit charity event (black-tie type of thing...want the ability for guests to download digitals and order prints).

I'll research them tomorrow (if I don't have to work...) and make a decision. If I go with Photoshelter, I'll be sure and get you the referal.

You switched from exposuremanager.com? May I ask why and what the differences in the sites lead you to choose them?

Thanks!

Nope..I still use exposuremanager.com. I use that for my local commercial photography sports, portrait, wedding and fine art site. However I use the photoshelter as my stock/travel/ pro sports/ celeb site. Photoshelter is basically a stock site where art directors, pictures buyers and picture editor can go where they don't have to wade through. Most of the professional picture buyer types head to photoshelter for stock images. Does it make sense?

Thanks Jim! I will do some research and make a decision as soon as I can. I might go ahead and start using photoshelter because I can't get access to my zenfolio out here...

Hi Jim! I have a question for you about exposuremanager. I can't seem to find much information on galleries on their website. Does exposure offer password protected galleries for clients to access?

Thanks!
