Default Score !!!!

Just scored a pretty nice deal.... We hv a new hospital to open in a couple of weeks and the PR Director just bought some prints I shot of their hospital in the evening light... Really nice, and they want some on their walls !!

Question - I'm getting them some larger "Metal Prints" 16x20 as well as some gallery wrapped canvas prints - (large), and of course I want my name/business/website out there (just in case..)

I was thinking of getting some small metal tags made up with my web address to display below the picture on the wall ............... or ................ in this kind of a case, would you have your web address actually inprinted descretely at the bottom of the photograph itself - like a small watermark/signature ??

How would you advertise yourself while displaying some large pictures in a public place like this ??

tks,

r

I think your plates idea sounds best.

I concur. Putting the watermark on the print will, in my opinion, cheapen the image. Yes, you're out there for commercial reasons (we all want to make money), but it is still your art, and unless your business website is part of the artwork, I think it is inappropriate and distracting (even if it is subtle). I'm sure these comments could start a hell storm of comments on either side of the argument. But in a "real" (forgive me) display setting as nice as you've described, take the high road and use the engraved plates. Give each shot a title or make the all Untitled, list your name and then possibly the website--though I'd hesitate even then.

Matted and framed with a wide border and the plate right on the mat sounds about right to me.

I think the plates is the best idea. Basically, I reckon you should just follow the kind of layout that you see in galleries, you can't go far wrong.
Congratulations!
