Background Help

I am doing a father daughter rock and roll party for an elementary school and I need help with backdrop ideas. It is next week so I don't have a lot of time to get something together. This is what I have so far. I will have a guitar and microphone for props....please give me your feed back asap!!!!

I would probably black out the background with a black sheet, use a small aperture and fast shutter to avoid ambient spill. Then I would set up 3 speed lights toward the camera maybe with some gels to simulate the stage lights at a rock show. Some smoke on the ground from a smoke machine would be cool too.
