Default What to charge for school headshots?

I can't find any info online about what photographers IN THE UK charge for school shots. I just want anything I can reference to set my prices I have no idea where to begin. The biggest package, Package A will cost me £8.51 and includes:

Paper image mounts/frames
1 8x10
2 8x6
2 5x4
4 5x3

What would you charge for these? Not normal studio charges but school charges.

This depends on your location, I would suspect. London photographers would likely command a higher price. Why not find a local photographer and pose as a customer?

Default This might help

I saw some examples printed on this site. It seems to indicate others have offered:

1 (8x10) + 1 (8x6) +2 (5x4) + 4 (4x3) for £25
1 (8x10) + 4 (5x4) = £17.50

So I guess somewhere around the £25 mark might be very reasonable for your package (about a 200% markup on cost).

Yes i am totally agree with "OsmosisStudios" view that it depends on the location or the place where you want to take their services and what type of photographer you are hiring.
From my point of view the minimum paper images they will take approximately.
1-7x5 print in a mount £12 and 1-7x5, 2-5x3.5 prints in mounts £ 20 i hope this information helps you very much..

Regards
Ryan

here are a few sites with prices
School photography prices
JP Photographic Ltd - School Photo Ordering
School Photographers in Glasgow. School Photography Prices by Visage photography

Around 25 quid seems to be the average for a "pack".
Cheap prices because of the volume and school photos are not exactly "artistic" portraits, but every parent is more or less guaranteed to buy.

Make sure you charge enough for you time it takes to go through orders, order prints, view and sort prints and stuff envelopes. That's one of the reason I'm no longer with photo group I started with three other photographers.
They had everything printed at Cosco and I ended up going through orders, sorting and stuffing envelopes..........not fun. I can see if it's a portrait shoot with one family, but 350 kids, what a royal pain in the ass. All we could have done was processed orders and full filled by an on line printing service. The orders would have been returned individually sorted and packaged and all this for a $1.00 to $1.50 more.
