Question Need Opinions On Website Idea

I had a random idea the other day for a website to both help me grow as a photographer and possibly make a little extra change, and I wanted to get some opinions to see if this is something that may be worth pursuing.

You know how when you go to a theme park there are always those people at the gate who want to take your picture with *insert costumed character here* so they can charge you $20 for a 4x6. What if you took that same idea and did it around your town? But instead of charging people you could offer free photos at your local tourist destinations and then give your subjects a little card or something pointing to your website.

You'll get a ton of practice with portraits but without a lot of expectation since you aren't charging anything. You could also have a few ads at the site that may eventually provide enough cash for a new lens, flash, etc.

Sound like a decent idea?

Depending on where you are working, you may need permits and such to work as a street vendor like that.

Other than that, it sounds like a lot of work for little return.

It's a good idea if your mainly wanting practice and a little exposure, without caring too much about money.
But the amount of work involved purely to try generate a little potential income is a real turnoff for me

The income to be generated by you for this amount of work may be lesser than the cost of you producing and investing time, effort, material, logistics, capital investments, insurance, permits, licenses, fees, charges, gasoline, parking, rates, and your own per hour income rate.
