Hi Guys,
I have been commissioned to produce 5 large canvas photo prints for my office. I would like to include my signature at the bottom of each canvas as a slight watermark, Do you think this is ok? and has anyone else done this? or do you have another suggestion? I'd also like to somehow put my details on the back of the canvas so if someone wants to contact me they can, I was going to just stick a business card on the back, but any other ideas would be appreciated? Many thanks T. |

I don't think that you can put a watermark on your canvas unless it is included in the processing of the procedure. What I would do is put it somewhere on the back of the canvas in an inconspicuous place where only you know where it is and what it means.

Thanks Guys,
I do have the software for it. I am having my canvas printer put my signature onto the artwork and he is going to send me a proof to see what i think. If its small enough i'm pretty sure 'my clients' wont mind. Thanks for your input. cheers T |

I wouldnt put it on the front, but on the back or on the side would be fine. I've done it for a few canvases just using a sharpie.

As far as a watermark on the front, my personal opinion is that I'm pretty sure you're going to be able to tell the difference between a signature that's printed with the canvas vs. one that's hand-signed. A signature done with your own hand seems appropriate, but one that's duplicated as part of the print seems sort of cheap.
Full contact info on the back seems perfectly ok. |
