Default Photographing Head Shots

What would be a decent price to charge for photographing people for their business cards and profiles etc? Is Aus $20.00 per head too low. More like $30 or more?

Talking studio work where they come to me and often involving a whole business of people with say 12 people.

Anyone know where there might be an industry standard on the net so we know what to charge and not undercut our fellow photographers?

Thanks

It depends on a few things. How good are you? What will the market bear in your location. I'm in Vegas. I graduated from the Southeast Center for Photographic Studies in Daytona, FL in 1983. I shot for magazines and add agencies. I am just now getting back into it as an avocation. I charge 250.00 for a studio shoot (at my house) and 350.00 for location. Up to 2 wardrobe changes. I include 2 8x10's. I mark up any other prints by 400% of my cost. I started doing this about a year ago and have done about 30 photo sessions at those prices. Remember, that's on the side. I have been a financial planner for the past 24 years and still am. I just know that I have to charge more than Glamor Shots and Wallmart. I know that I'm better than them. Hope that helps.
