Default what about 72dpi

Seems like a lot of people have forgotten that computers display pictures at 72dpi so what is the reason for using a picture that is 3000+ px wide? If you want to store your originals then there are plenty of sites around that are setup for this.

DPS is one of the best schools and at the current price of abmission, we should follow whatever rules they want to enforce.

Arrow Want to do this right!

Hi, I'm new to DPS and want to make sure that I get this right so as not to upset others and to make sure I don't cause problems. I've posted 2x on DPS and and I guess I've linked my pics into my post. (Not sure) Here's how I've been posting.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/3117216...n/photostream/

I've seen others with their pics in their post and I can not figure out how to do this. I want to join in on the assignments but want to make sure that posting my pics this way is ok with everyone.
Is the pic that I've posted here too large? Do ya'll even accept pics posted this way for assignments? Just wanted to ask a few q's before I jumped in and got it all wrong.

The FAQ has everything you need to know, including an illustrated guide on posting from Flickr.

Default Uploading pics from my computer

I have just posted for the first time and uploaded one of my photos directly from my computer. When it was posted the photo is a thumbnail, and not the full size photo How can I post it as a full size photo? Thanks for your help

It is best to host your images on an external site (I use Flickr although there are many choices) and use the code they provide to show the image. There are ways of posting a thumbnail and then showing the larger version but it takes a certain degree of "web-fu" and an external site is probably easier (especially as it allows you to link back to a version that is larger than the 640px allowed here).

I just downloaded my first photos on here, and they came out huge, so went back into photobucket, re-entered it at a smaller size, med, and it was still the same, so went back in once more and went to small size, re-entered the pic and its still the same size.

I signed out of photobucket, and then back in thinking that would do the trick, but still no change. Any suggestions would be welcome, as I have some other photos I would like to get opinions on, but dont want to get anyone frustrated.

Thank you. I just entered a photo of my Dad in another section using photobucket once again, and it came out the correct size, so it was just a matter of time I guess.

Thanks for your suggestion.
