Hi CanJan You can also use the 500px or 600px size on Webshots, which will make your picture the same size as most other people's here. It's also preferable so people can get a better view without having to leave the thread since then people will be more likely to comment.

PS, thanks for pointing that site out, I'll add it to the list of visual tutorials when I get a chance.

Not sure I understand fully yet - If I post the smaller size on Webshots, it will still only give a thumbnail on this forum so that would not result in a better view on forum - I'm missing something???

CanJan: I just took a look for you. What you need to do is, in that yellow box to the right of your picture, click on "Share On". You will get a box that pops up with a list of places to share with. It also says "Or Copy Code". There is a button that you would click on that says "Copy". When you click on that, it copies that code to your clipboard. Don't worry about what that means if you don't know. When you start a thread or are replying to a thread, just click inside the message box. Then you can either right-click then paste, or just hit Ctrl & "V" at the same time. That's a shortcut to paste. Then your picture will show up like this. If that doesn't make any sense, feel free to ask more questions & I'll see what I can do.

Default My answer

this is my answer to the pic size,

kind of OK'ish to give you an idea of the pic (the problem here being the small detail of the markers on the tactics board and their shadows not really being seen )

followed by this

(Clickable Thumb) (to Full Size = 1280 xx 979 PX, included the dimensions to allow for Dialuppers who don't want to dl something that big)

and the thumb

this allows people to see where you are going with the pic, and gives them the opportunity to investigate further if they wish, or not, if they think it's crap LOL

about this, i was just wondering why we don't have the option to resize images by using this code >>> . it's usually a common option in most forums. also, there are packs or features that you can install into a vbulletin forum (which i know dps forums is) that can auto resize bigger pictures.

That is the technique often used by moderators to make big pictures fit (although we reserve the right to just delete them instead - it is better to get it right first time than to hope you catch us in a good mood / with some time on our hands ).

The drawback is that, although it reduces the size the image is displayed at, it does not reduced the bandwidth requirements. One of the key reasons for having a limit is that if you are browsing on a slow connection, it can take a significant time for a page to load if it is crammed with images that are very large and need to be pulled from a range of external sites.
