Default Night shots

I was working on some night-trails of moving traffic. When I moved over to capture the skyline, I forgot to change my exposure settings. I ended up with this shot (30s exposure) accidentally.

Default Assignment: "A Mistake"

Birthday Candles

On my son's 42nd birthday, I decided to tape 42 birthday candles together. To our suprise, the flames shot up higher than expected. The first mistake was not realizing that many candles together would produce such a flame.......and the second mistake was the settings on the camera. Since this photo was taken with my old digital Canon Elph PowerShot S200, I don't know what setting I had at the time.

Default assignment: mistake

We were at an easter egg hunt at a store. In haste, I was playing and trying to understand lighting but I had the camera in auto with the flash off, when I snapped this photo. The results~ everything a blur except my grandson, odd he was so focused. I thought it looked interesting and kept it.

Default Mistake

I had an opportunity to take some photos of some wild cats one day. This is one that I tried to take of a puma however at exactly the wrong moment she turned away from me as the keeper was about to throw in some food. I therefore ended up with the bush on the left hand side being more in focus than the puma.

Just snapped this one while on another cable car heading the other way.

Default Assignment: Mistake

Here is my mistake:

Photobucket

I have still only had my camera for just under 2 weeks and am trying to master the different settings and knowing when to adjust shutter, aperture and exposure.

In this one I was just testing out different ISO as I had been having trouble earlier in the day, I took this of my husband watching telly and I liked the result

EXIF:

Shutter: 1.5
Aperture: F20
Exposure Mode: Aperture
Exp: -2.3
Focal Length: 55 mm
no flash.

Default Assignment: My Mistake

I am about a month into photography and was just introduced to this forum yesterday. Coincidentally, I took this shot about an hour later. How fitting. I was certainly more interested in my daughter than the trail, but totally missed the focus as she ran off. I did, however, decide after seeing it that it was much better this way. It is a perfect example of how she's there one minute, and off the next!
