Default Clarification

I have just read the next assignment -
"Next week: A mistake. You've taken a photo, you were rushing, you hadn't checked your settings, SNAP, it came out all wrong - but you like it."

Does this mean that you want photos that fall outside of the traditional 2 week photo period "I'm sure we've all got a whole hard drive full of these - let's see your best MISTAKE." - stuff off the hard drive implies archives (?).
or
Are you suggesting that we abandon the principles of good photography and attempt to take rubbish shots? I am perplexed. I can't seem to find the value of such an assignment in learning something new.

Any clarification would be useful. Thanks.

Default Assignment: B&W Portrait

I had thought about taking a picture of one of my family members. Then my wife reminded me that, as the household photographer, there aren't too many pictures of me around. Quite frankly, I like it that way. No need to go wreckin' an expensive lens with my mug. But I figured I'd take the risk anyway.

DPS B&W Assignment 01

EXIF:
DATE: July 5, 2009
LENS: Canon 50mm f/1.8
EXPOSURE: 2 sec @ f/6.3
ISO: 200
FLASH: did not fire

If have to totally agree with Maro me. Do you want us to go out and purposely take bad photos, I could go and take something abstract but that still isn't a mistake, I'm doing my best to put those days behind me, or can we abandon the two week thingy and go through the achieves. It doesn't make a whole deal of sense!!
