Default Dad

Assignment:BW Portrait Taken 4/7/09

My dad is 85, and no longer knows who I am. But he still likes seeing me, provided I bring a nice cake! After he enjoyed his cake, and before he went back to sleep, I was able to hold up my camera and snap this man who was once a colossus, but is now a frail little man; a man who once cared wonderfully for his family, but who now needs full time care; a man who doesn't understand that his wife of 60+ years died just a few short months ago, but who is still known by all as a gentleman's gentleman. My dad, whom I love.

Exposure: 0.006 sec (1/160)
Aperture: f/2.8

Oh my this really made me tear up... makes me think of my own Dad who died at 58 years old, he's been gone for 9 years and I miss him terribly. Great picture and a wonderful story.
