Assignment: B&W Portraits

This is my first post here, so please let me know how I'm doing. This is a great site and I love the weekly contests. It just gives me more reasons to take out my camera and try stuff out.

Here is my entry for this week's contest.

35mm equivalent: 89mm

Default Dad

Assignment:BW Portrait Taken 4/7/09

My dad is 85, and no longer knows who I am. But he still likes seeing me, provided I bring a nice cake! After he enjoyed his cake, and before he went back to sleep, I was able to hold up my camera and snap this man who was once a colossus, but is now a frail little man; a man who once cared wonderfully for his family, but who now needs full time care; a man who doesn't understand that his wife of 60+ years died just a few short months ago, but who is still known by all as a gentleman's gentleman. My dad, whom I love.

Exposure: 0.006 sec (1/160)
