Breaking rules can be fun and sometimes it can produce some real winners

Well, I definitely broke the rule of thirds. It is not focused either. It is just abstract photo :-)

This was taken ten days too early to qualify for the assignment and I now realise that most of my photos each break at least one of the rules - I like this one anyway and it's relevant.
Angle: ![]() - beach huts in Felpham whilst trying to watch the Perseids meteor shower.

Assignment: Breaking Rules
![]() Accidental picture of my foot in the sand. A bit too close for the lens to capture, so it's very much out of focus. I still like it. Wow, lot of "diagonals." You guys are using the diagonals so much to get good photos, that it can now be a considered a rule.

Using diagonals is a "rule". Or it's at least good to use them. But you don't have to break all rules. Breaking just some of them is, I think, even better.
