If you have a free Flickr account, you won't be able to see your original sized pictures. The largest you'll be able to see is large. If you upgrade and you uploaded original sizes then you'll be able see them.

You can post up to medium size from Flickr in the threads though. So just select the medium size

So, just for quick clarification:

I'm posting to DPS from SmugMug. Their instructions actually mention a way to copy EXIF data from an image, but it doesn't seem to translate to DPS (using the bracket method - I didn't try as html).

So, if I'm posting for a challenge, and I link to my image on SmugMug like I did above, will the administrator be checking my exif data at SmugMug, or is there some other way I should be including the exif data in my post?

THANKS!

Well, you can post html if that works for you . But I can't see any exif nor can I see any way to see the exif since your image doesn't link back to a photo page or anything (so I can't see your exif on SmugMug). Best if you copy and paste the relevant info to your posts.

Thank you for this...

I'd definitely post html, and try that - but the way SmugMug gives to include that info with a pic, is to basically place the link to the exif data *around* the code for the image in the html or the BB Code method. It would look like:

[URL=http://eye-m-stassi.smugmug.com/photos/newexif.mg?ImageID=258373864&ImageKey=E5m2U[IMG]http://eye-m-stassi.smugmug.com/photos/258373864_E5m2U-600x600.jpg[/IMG\]\[/URL\]

This doesn't seem to work in DPS, with either the BBCode, or html method.

So, it's just best to copy/paste the whole exif data, and always just put it in my post as text?

Also, I thought that the way I embedded above, using the BBCode method, that it provided some sort of link for you guys. So, what's the best way to actually "link" the image in, so it can be clicked and get you to my smugmug site to view the exif from there?

This is turning out to be rather more difficult than I thought it would......

Thanks for your help and patience!

Hmmmm, well, first things first, if that's the actual BBCode it's way screwed up. There are missing bits and extra bits which would explain why it wasn't working. It's missing a closed bracket after the URL and there are unnecessary \ in the closing code. When I edited the BBCode I got it to post with the link on the picture.

That being said, it is easiest if you include your basic exif in your post by copying and pasting. Even if it's just the shutter speed / aperture / ISO since many people prefer to see the info there rather than go to another site and come back. It'll get you more critiques that way.

Just to show that your link can work (after fixing the code)....

Yep, you got the picture posted right. You can upload larger pictures to Flickr and Flickr will generate the medium size for you (for future reference of course )
