I haven't gone through all of the 68 pages of suggestions, but I'd like to suggest some assignment ideas. I apologize if they've already been listed, or done.
1. Show Pride for your Country - Photograph your country's flag 2. Nature's Beauty - capture a nature-made marvel in your city 3. Top Model - Choose a model or models and conduct a themed photoshoot. You could choose any number of themes or topics to shoot. Some examples are "Milk! It does a body good!", "Save the Earth! Go Green", you could do a fashion shoot with clothes, swim suits, cosmetics, etc... You could shoot anything you heart desires. Choose 3 shots from that shoot that best portrays what you wanted your audience to see or feel when they look at your photos. 4. I love my Pet - Photograph your pet. Try to show your audience what it is about your pet that you love the most! 5. Photograph butterflies 6. Photograph Seashells 7. Photograph a tree |

I was walking down Main Street in my historic town, and was slapped in the face with a great idea! A lot of the old buildings have what they call "Ghost Signs". These are the weather and time faded painted names of what the buildings once housed. For example, what is now the police station, used to do "Furniture and Undertaking". Yes... what a combination, huh? I had to ask myself ... did they really do furniture AND undertaking? I thought, maybe, that it was a play on words, like they took "dead" furniture and fixed it up. So, I asked a local who has lived in my town his whole life and knows just about everything about it. (He is over 70 yrs old) He said they literally sold and refurbished furniture, but also did undertaking as we all know it... with people. Creepy thought, but awesomely intriguing!
This also leads me to the idea of abandonment. Buildings mainly, but can also be creative with that one. |

To count for the contests they have to be taken that week. However, some people happen to have images that would be perfect for the contest, even though they were taken at the wrong time, so they post them anyway. Personally I liike to see them, even though they dont "count" for contest purposes.

could you have an assignment where people use a cheaper camera like a nikon d5000 and the two kit lens that come with the camera. It just feels like there is lots of things here that are done with best gear but what about on the cheaper side of things or are these cameras and lens just not woth using.
Just wondering out loud. |
