Default Another story theme?

I really liked the 'tell a story' assignment. How about a similar theme-- a picture that tells a story by suggesting something that just happened or is about to happen, or even just suggests something that is not in the picture. I found some pictures on flickr that I think do this as an example...

Default Black & White Assignments

I disagree with the current "month long" Black & White assignments, at least at this time of year.

Color is key during the Spring and Fall seasons of the hemispheres, it's something we should be working with rather than against, and (unfortunately) those near the Tropic have little concern of this.

I could understand one B&W assignment as "challenging", but 4 weeks of it during the most transitional seasons of the year is less. The wax and wane of color during these seasons is the real challenge.

Black & White assignments are more suited for Mid-Summer and Mid-Winter, for photographers from anywhere on the globe, and should be posted during both.

Of course the B&W afficionados will enjoy them, with credit to them.

If anyone has a different take I'm all ears, would love to learn different.

You are still allowed to take colour pictures for any other purposes. If you really can't stand having to forgo colour for the assignments, look on it as a four-week holiday. On the other hand, sometimes it is the constraints that we chafe against that end up teaching us the most.

I like the idea of doing "colors", one a week (doesn't have to be all the colors). Especially since we are doing a month of b&w.......

My suggestion is PHOTOGRAPHIC DNA. (eg. what best portrays your style, message and/or passion in your own images.) I recently did this topic in a group and it required a great deal of study as to what kind of photographer I am and where I wanted to go with my photography. Really made me think about more than just what I prefer to photograph but why I prefer it. It's helped to hone my style and give me some direction and I learned more than I expected.
