You will be very lucky to get a second-hand semi pro camera for those prices-anyway why do you need a semi pro camera?-what can it give you that an entry level camera cannot? ( Apart from an ego boost?) Ken

zimbabwe$ or US$

for 400 Zim dollars you might get a strip of toiletpaper.. if you're lucky
for US$ you might get a dslr camera.. but certainly not a semi-pro model

That'd be a stretch even for the entry-level. Semi-pro is at least $1k, often more than $2k

Lightbulb Quality photos are important, not the nomenclature of the camera!

Pentavijay -

Images are important. I shoot professionally. Some years ago I needed an affordable 10mpxl camera. I looked at both the Nikon D80, and the Nikon D200 (a semi-pro camera at the time). I reasoned that I could buy almost 2 D80s for the price of one D200, and the clients won't be able to tell the difference from looking at the images. So I bought the
two D80s. I used them for many clients who were delighted with the images, both for print enlargement and the internet. So, I would guess you might find a used D80 for close to the price you mentioned on eBay or some such venue. Be mindful of the number of exposures the camera has already taken (wedding shooters can wear them out). You can ask how many images were taken - the camera keeps count. Get good lenses, and you're set. Even though I have purchased the larger mpxl D300 since then, I still use my D80s when I am out and about, and still use them to shoot stock images. BTW, shoot raw and use a good editor. Nikon Capture NX2 does a nice job, as well as Photoshop CS4.

I think you should go for a good entry level DSLR. There are many in the market and might just fit your price range too.

There's none that will fit the price range once all of the needed accessories are factored in.

Pentavijay, what exactly are you looking for in a new camera? Better features, better image quality, more durability?
