Default Best Tripod?

I didnt really know where to put this so i just put it here im working on developing my own camera kit if you will, so my question here is what is a really nice tripod? without it weighing like 50 lbs. that is , budget isnt really a concern, under a couple hundred would be nice though thanks, oh and if it helps the tripod would be used for a little bit of everything, landscape/sunsets, macros, and nature. Thanks!

I have the Manfrotto 190 series, I would go ahead and get a heavier one if I were to do it over! I think th 055PRO is the next on up, it's much sturdier, and worth the extra weight. I carry around a bag of lead shot to make mine stable enough, I would have been better off with the heavier unit in the first place. I will say I LOVE my 322RC grip ball head! It's Great!

I've got Slik 330. It's not quite as expensive as Manfrotto but rock steady and works well. I love the 3-way head, since its easier for me to operate than the usual ball-head.

There's also Slik 500 series if youre looking for a bigger tripod.

Figure out how much your heaviest setup would be, and get a tripod that will support that plus another pound or two. No use getting a tripod that supports 8 pounds when your setup weighs 11.

I have a Manfrotto similar to this one. The head is sold separately, so you can get whatever head you like.

I have the Manfrotto 190XPROB legs and the 488RC2 midi ball head. If you're on the taller side you'll want to look at the 055XPROB legs as it extends to a taller height.

Smile SLIK Pro

I am using SLIK Pro and quite happy with that. SLIK has got many models, you can chk more advanced model if you need a heavier as mine is not so heavy.

I picked up a Velbon El Carmagne 530 Carbon Fiber Tripod with Pan Head and Case at Best Buy on clearance for $119 plus tax. It is very nice and you can't beat it for the price. I plan on putting a ball head on it sometime but the Pan Head works really well and is nice and smooth so I will probably stick with it for a while.

I use a Benbo 1 tripod - it features a variable angle central column that enbles you to get the camera into just about any position - particularly useful for macro work in the field. It is also heavy enough to take a 2 way macro slide. The design is some what unconventional, very robust & you can stand in a stream up tp 18" deep.

If you have the budget, go for the Carbon Fibre one... Eventhough it's just a few hundred grams less weight, it has lot less vibration compared to the aluminium one...
And it's not like ice at cold weather
Mine is 055 CXPRO 4
really love it
190 CXPRO3 is cheaper though.
