Needed suggestions? sony wx1?

Hello everybody

I m new to DPS and novice to photography.
I want to buy a digicam for general purpose.
My requirements are easy to cary, good image quality in bright sunny days as well as indoors.
I don't want great zoom and manual controls but wide angle lenses will be prefered.
HD video recording should also be there.
I was looking at sony wx1, but after looking at reviews it don't seem to be a good choice.
How about Panasonic fx48?
Budget is around $350
Can anybody help?

Looks like that Sony is a ultra compact P&S camera. I have no personal experience with them but the few people I know who have them generally aren't very satisfied with the image quality. I'm guessing there are lots of compromises when making them that small and compact.

If I were looking for a ultra compact P&S I think I'd stick with Canon, Panasonic and maybe Olympus. You might want to visit some of the camera review web sites and see what the Editor Choices are.

Ok firstly I would recommend that you should NOT take Sony.

I recommend Panasonic (Panasonic Digital Cameras: Digital Photography Review), or Canon (Canon Digital Cameras: Digital Photography Review).
