Default Lens rentals?

I am contemplating purchasing a new lens, but want to try one prior to purchasing to be sure it will achieve the results I want. Anyone have first hand knowledge of the various companies available for this or recommendations?

I'm a test shooter for prophotorental.com (I was a customer first). If you're looking for something obscure they may not have it, but for more normal stuff they'll have you covered. Good customer service, easy shipping and such.

Also check out lensrentals.com, borrowlenses.com and if you have a local camera shop, they might be able to help you too.

Thanks jdepould, I looked at prophotorental and they don't have the lens I am looking for. Sadly there are no camera shops on the island, but I have found it at one of the other places you said to check. Suffered a little sticker shock when I say the rental price, but I still think it is a good idea to rent first. Thanks for the help.

Try www.thelensdepot.com They are out of Orlando, Florida and have a decent selection. I have rented from them before. I do not know if they ship to Puerto Rico though.

It's a long Nikkor prime, do you really need to ask?

Well that's true Jamie, they do a great job. I used an older version several years ago on film and it did fantastic work. Your shots are great, but the big questions is how many were hand held if any? I am very curious about how much the VR in these lenses will let me get away with. The older versions could be hand held, but if you wanted great shots then a tripod was mandatory. Really the only reason I want to rent is to test the VR, as I know from experience what the lens can do.
