Hey guys
So I got a call from my cousin today morning and he needed help choosing a dslr for work. He was looking for a camera below $1000 and I thought that the Nikon D5100 would be perfect. His only concern is that the camera will not be used by him but by his employees back in India to take pictures of their products for clients. I'm guessing he's looking for something powerful that can take beautiful pictures and at the same time easy to pick up on. Or do you think he shouldn't go for a dslr altogether. Thanks guys! ![]() Rohan |

What kind of products? The issue is less which body, but which lenses and lighting.
Honestly, they may be better off finding a local photographer to do their product shots, or to send those products to a photographer

Products such as photo frames, jewelry boxes, hand bags made from cloth.
It's not for their product catalogue but more to send the end results of production to clients and for references. More like pictures of the product from x number of angles. |

I think they'd be better off with a high end P&S like the Canon G12. Well under $1000 ($445 at B&H Photo) and easy to learn to use, and it takes very good photos. It does most of what a DSLR will do, but you don't need to worry about lenses with it.
