Hey guys,
I have a dslr and my Lumix FZ38 is not really being used anymore. I like the FZ38 but it's not really pocketable and to carry a bag i'll just carry my dslr. A friend would buy it from me and i'm thinking about reinvesting the money in a S95. Does this sound like a good idea? Should i be looking for a different P&S? Cheers |

It's up to you what's worth the additional cost. I agree, the lens change and added grips alone probably isn't worth the price bump. But GPS geotagging (for me) would be a feature worth extra spending. ymmv. OTOH, I'm probably still sticking with my S90.

I've used one. It's a PITA. Try it sometime.
The "just sync" portion gets more and more annoying, the more photos you have to run through that mill. Not to mention recharging, checking YA battery, syncing your camera's clock, and then having an older crap cheap GPS unit that loses signal under tree cover and in urban canyons....... but as I said. It's a personal thing. If you think the S95 looks good, then go for it. The only other high-end candidates that come close are probably the Panasonic Lumix LX-5, and the Olympus XZ-1. It's a very nice camera. And you were asking for alternative choices, without stating any particular reasons....

My FZ38 certainly isn't pocketsized..otherwise it's a pretty nice camera. Best bang for the buck is what i'm looking for around the 250€-300€ max price range |
