Default Suggest a P&S Camera with manual control & Price <250$

I wish to buy a P&S camera, yes it my first camera. i wish to learn photography too. plz suggest a good camera with Manual control and cost less than 250$..

my choices are
canon sx130/sx150
panasonic tz10/tz18

my needs
manual control
manual focus (if available)
above 12x optical zoom

now i also noticed Olybmus sz10 . BT it doesnt have a manual settings. shuld i forget my needs and go for this one ??

Go with the SX150 itself. The SX series produce fantastic pictures. Been using one fors 3 years now, the first of the SX series.

gaurav thanks man ...i was checking ur flickr pics..nw decided Im gonna choose sx130 itself... ur pics r simply awesome ... one more things that i liked is Moto defy ... Im also a proud owner of defy with a cm7...

again i wondered how someone can take such beutiful pics with an sx base series.. was thinking also about sx230 ..bt a little high price of 250$.

wen i see ur pics i realised the quote "Its nt the camera, the eyes behind lens takes gr8 pics" is r8 !!

Thanks you for those kind words Yes actually, once you get to know your camera well & work around its limitations you'll begin to produce fantastic work. I'm still holding my upgrading to CM7, been on stock 2.2 for now. Also recently purchased the Canon EOS 60D on 1st November but I'll continue using the SX100 IS too.

Also I forgot to add, go for SX230Hs only if you need GPS else the SX220HS will serve you fine. Both are almost identical in all other aspects. You also need to note, the GPS will suck your battery pretty fast.
