Default Techie Help-Nikon D5000

Just recently I started having a problem...When I shoot in P, S, A and M my pictures turn out black and white but if I shoot in AE or in any of the SCENE modes they come out in the correct colour.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.......

Sounds like you tweaked the picture control setting and made it B&W. I'd guess you're shooting JPEG as well, since RAW will show the result of the picture control settings on the screen, but will have full color information when you import the RAW file.

In any event, you can tweak it either on the main shooting screen (bottom right corner, probably says "MC" for monochrome) or in the Menu -> Shooting Menu -> Set Picture Control.

A BIG, big thank you IA. You zeroed right in on the problem and solved it. It was set to MONOCHROME.

Thanks again
