I like the price of this lens -
Rokinon.com | Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 IF ED MC Super Wide Angle Lens for Canon - FE14M-C I want a low F stop fisheye lens for my canon and would prefer something with auto-focus. On the website there is a comment about Nikon having a auto-focus option but I do not know about the one for the Canon. Does anyone know of any lens in similar price range and options to this for under $300 if this does not have auto-focus for Canon? Thanks - Keith

No. And whoever said the Rokinon has AF on a Nikon was lying. All the Rokinon/Samyang lenses are manual focus/manual aperture. That's why they're so cheap. A good ultrawide with autofocus for a crop-body camera will be in the $800+ price range (e.g., Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 or EF-S 10-22). The Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L USM is $2000. The Samyang is it as far as $300 ultrawides (and full-frame to boot) go.
Also, that 14mm/2.8? It's not a fisheye, it's a rectilinear ultrawide--not as much distortion as a fisheye would have. The one you probably want is the Samyang/Rokinon/Vivitar/Bower/Phoenix/etc. etc. 8mm/7mm/6.5mm fisheye (they're all the same lens, made by Samyang, but rebranded). To get one with autofocus, again, you're looking in the $600 price range for something like the Sigma 10mm f/2.8 fisheye. Sorry, but dSLR lenses are mostly expensive.

Thanks for the reply. For what it is manual focus and aperture set on the ring instead of camera - for the price is the lens worth it?
Thanks Keith

Depends on who you talk to. For the folks who routinely use manual focus lenses on full-frame cameras, it's more than worth the price. The only flaw the lens has is that it exhibits wave distortion (barrel and pincushion distortion combined), so you'd need specialized correction software to fix that if it annoys you. Something like PTLens, or a specific lens profile in Lightroom/ACR.
Try this fredmiranda thread for a few samples: Samyang 14mm f/2.8 Thread - FM Forums Be aware that most of the folks who are interested in this shoot full frame, not crop. Most crop users would probably prefer to get a good ultrawide zoom lens, like the EF-S 10-22 or Tokina 11-16/2.8, rather than a prime. You do need to be aware that you cannot use screw-on filters on the front of this lens, due to the curve of the front element.

Thanks for the info and help -
I wish I had a bigger budget. I have seen some in the 800 - 1200 price range that I would love to eventually save for. Mean time I was looking at this to get me started. Just need to do some more research first. Thanks - Keith
