Recommended point and shoot camera for kids and pets

Hello,

Can anyone recommend a simple to use point and shoot camera mostly for taking pictures of kids and pets? I am a novice photographer and don't want to have to mess with camera settings much. Ideally the camera is less than $200.

A camera for Kids & Pets needs to be fast both in focusing and in shutter speed.
Most compact have rather slow focusing systems - better learn to prefocus and then shoot.
However, for a faster shutter speed you need a larger aperture - and for that, you need a Canon PowerShot SD4000.
