Hello all,
I am planning to buy the following Camera and Lens: 1. Nikon D90 12.3MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) ( for 799$) 2. Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens ( 180$) 3. Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED IF AF-S VR Nikkor Zoom Lens ( 300$, with a 200$ discount coupon) All Brand New and all the items are sold directly from amazon. can any one please suggest ? Is this a good deal ? Should i go ahead ? Or should i consider other lens ? I am already at the highest end of my budget ( and no way afford a D 7000) .. The only thing i am thinking is instead of 18-55 should i go with 18-105 for 100$ more ? or is the above package perfect ? Please suggest..Thanks |

Where else have you checked for prices?
B&H Photo is great if you haven't looked there.

The 18-105 has a more useable range, the D90 was (is) a good camera.. Is the D3100 or D5100 in your price range? The D90 seems a little over priced for old stock, but I've seen some great photos on here taken with it, the 70-300 is an great lens..
In the end, the lenses are more important than the camera body because you'll keep them longer.. If you can afford it, get the Nikon 16-85, it's an excellent lens.

Have you looked at the 18-200 VR II lens? |

Look at something different for the mid range: 18-105, 16-85, something similar. THe 18-55 is a decent lens, but I wouldnt go out and buy one separately if I had to.
