Hi, I want to get a SLR camera and I've only been looking at the Canon Rebel t2i and t3i. The main reason that I've been only looking at them is because a few friends of mine have them and they are very happy with them.
Is it just me or are they really expensive? I wonder what other camera compares to these 3 cameras. I currently have a Samsung wb600 and I love it. Does Samsung make a good slr camera? What else do you think has the same quality as the Canon, but less expensive? Thanks Eric |

Have you looked at the Canon XS or T3? Or used camera bodies? Those can be lower in cost.
Yes, dSLR equipment is expensive. Get used to the sticker shock now. While you could go with a Nikon D3100 or D5100, or a Pentax or Sony dSLR, the prices are going to be relatively comparable across the tiers. My thing is, if all your friends shoot Canon, are you sure you want to go with a system where you can't swap/share lenses/flashes/remotes, etc. with each other?

As to the OP: Photo gear is expensive. Get used to that.
