Advice for new compact?

Looking for advice for a compact in the $250 range. I'm beyond the beginner stage but can't afford the jump to DSLR. My current camera is several years old, an Olympus Fe-5010; I've been frustrated by image quality and poor focus, especially indoors or low-light.

My local camera shop recommends Panasonic ZS5, for which they want $300. Looking on DPreview.com, they gave it a good recommendation, liked the casio EX-F100.

Any thoughts or recommendations greatly appreciated. Thanks

Nothing at that price point is going to give you great low light images. In general, Panasonic is a pretty good choice.

Might be able to find a Samsung EX-1. Very nice.
