Default Is video recording on Compact Digital Camera okay?

I heard somewhere that too much video recording on a compact digital camera (still) can kill the quality of photo it can provide. Is it true? Should I avoid video recording on my samsung st60?

Absolutely not true. It will fill up the memory card faster on video than on stills, but it wont alter the quality.

Thank you. I'm aware of the fact that video recording will take up memory card faster. But I was concerned whether it will hurt my image quality of the camera. I like photography and videography but can't afford a video camera right now.
