as fleetwood mac once named an album...it's a mystery to me. But it looks like a card issue.

It's a corrupted file.

Eliminate all the possible causes and add them back in until you get the problem again.

My money is on the remote being the culprit.

Funny, I was looking at it thinking of all the neat things that could be done with it.

thanks for the quick replies...have tried to duplicate it again, same card using the wired remote and nothing..wondering if maybe static electricity would cause that if it went through the remote? At least no one said it was a camera problem, cards and remotes are cheap enough to replace

I really like the saturation and sharpness, but the composition doesn't move me a bit. ;-)

Pretty crazy image. I think I might hang onto one or two of those -- it might come in handy if you do any post-processing.

Depending on your camera - and how it interacts with the remote - this could be the result of turning the camera off before the processing was finished writing to the card. Use the remote to take a shot and turn the camera off before it stops writing to the card to check...

Most modern cameras won`T actually power down until the writing is complete , but such cameras might if the remote affects things. Whereas older cameras will just shut off when you flip the switch, So you could check for this condition, though it might be some other cause..
