New digital camera::opinion required

Friends,
I want to purchase a non SLR Compaq Digital Camera with CMOS sensor of price between 400 USD ( Rs. 20,000 approx ) to 550 USD (Rs.25,000 approx). I reside in Guwahati, Assam, India. Please suggest so that I get value of my price.

What sized sensor? You can get a CMOS sensor in a lot of compacts, but the size may not be what you're looking for. Why CMOS?

Plz check the link -http://www.image-designer.com/digital-camera-ccd.html. I think CMOS is latest and better than CCD.
My choice either Nikon P100 (CMOS) or Nikon L110 , Cannon Powershot SX300. I need suggestion.

To be blunt, unless you're shooting full-frame digital SLRs or medium format, you're not going to notice a difference in the CCD/CMOS sensors.

THe P100 would be my preference, because of the considerably better video and ergonomics.
