Hi, I am going to buy my first DSLR. I am trying to decide which one to buy and could use some help. I am deciding between the Canon Rebels (XSi, T1i,or T2i). I am not interested in video so it does not matter to me if the camera has it. I have taken a few photography classes and would really like to upgrade from my 10x point and shoot. I am especially interested in portraits, but want it usefull for everday photos as well. Thanks.

Not many people are going to pipe in here. The question is not one of comparison. You seem to have decided on Canon and the 3 cameras you are asking about are all in line in their line up. Entry level XSi, last generation enthusiast (T1i), current enthusiast (T2i). They are evolutions of the same mold. Almost like comparing trim levels on a car.
The answer is simply, the best one you can afford. T2i best, T1i medium, then XSi basic. Hope this helps.

I've been using a Nikon D90 so can't really comment on a Canon but did want to encourage you on your journey. I'm in love with my camera and totally obsessed.
