Default point-and-shoot on Christmas list

With a nice Nikon dslr, i still would like to have a little P&S camera that I can carry in my pocket. Anyone else has that?
Any suggestions for a little Nikon or Canon camera?

Go to your local electronics retailers and find one that has all of the features that you'd want in a nice P&S. Play with the demo/display models and search online as well. There are more companies that make good P&S's than companies that make good SLR's. I still love my lil Pentax Optio even though its YEARS old. It was bought when 7MP was the highest you could get in a P&S. It's got some cool features to it though. Shop around, and make sure that its exactly what you want before you buy it.

Default For Xmas

If you are a Nikon patriot, the best you can get is a P7000.
Since you didn't specify your budget, I'm ignoring its high price.
The Canon alternative is their new excellent G12.
If you prefer a more compact camera, get the S95.
If there are any specific features you are looking for,
you must elaborate for anyone to be able to help.
