Default Camera Advice

Hello, I am 16 years old. About three years ago I got really into photography. I've had a hand-me-down Nikon D50 for about a year now. (My first "Photography" camera)
My Birthday just passed and I've finally saved up enough $$$ to spend $830 on a new Nikon D90..

Am I making a good choice?

Ditto! Jump on that camera BUT, keep that D50 as a backup - it's a pretty decent camera!

The new D3100 might be a good choice too.

I agree Jim! The D90 is a great camera but the newer D3100 seems to be worth the research.

I'd say probably no. The D50 was a nice camera, and the D90 is already long in the tooth. I'd either save your money for the next model (not the D3100 if you're looking to move up from the D50 not just newer than it), or else invest it in other photographic equipment. $830 will buy you a nice lens or two, or a nice lens and a good flash. You'll get more return out of that than a new body.

Default Kodak easy-share C813

Does anyone know anything about Kodak easy-share C813? Pictures are okay but nothing like the photos I see here on this form.

Might be best to start a new thread for that question. In particular, you should indicate what you mean... what's wrong with the photos? A Kodak easy-share is going to be pretty low-end, and I wouldn't expect amazing technical quality.

+1. Particularly if you're still happy with the image quality of the D50. To me, this issue really depends on what lenses you have. If you spend that $850 on a camera body, it'll last you around maybe three to five years before you're likely to move on and upgrade. A lens will last you through multiple bodies. Unless the D90 has features you seriously need to get your photography done, it's probably better right now to spend your money on glass.
