Currently I own a Sony DSC-H50, pretty decent camera, but I wanna evolve!
I'm looking for my first dSLR digital camera...
I would really be happy if you all could give me some help over here

So I'm totally new to this dSLR operations and on a low budget.

I love "Letter to George." Looking back, I would have started with my K20D instead of my K100DS, because I never used the scene modes anyway. I did okay with my first lens (I skipped the kit lens), but really I should have only 3 lenses instead of the 6 I have. I got distracted thinking I'd need this or that, when really that's not how I shoot.

Get the best you can afford, especially lenses. You'll grow into the rest of it.

l shoot Pentax, but if I were going Nikon, I wouldn't go below a D90. Their entry-level models do not have internal focus motors, and this limits your lens choice unless you are a fan of manual focus (and some folks are, nothing wrong with that). The D90 is an excellent camera, and reasonable in price since it isn't a brand-new model.

Canon I know nothing about.

Canon EOS 1000D and Sony A350...

Cmon people HELP over here!

From what i've read, CCD gets better quality than CMOS so i guess thats another point for Sony (Talking about the link up here)

Yeah. Right. We're supposed to make the decision for you? All we can do is advise.

I say wait six weeks. By then the new camera announcements will probably have happened, and you'll find out if the XS/1000D is going to be replaced. Both of the models you're looking at are relatively old in their lineups. dSLRs for Canon at the entry-level tend to only live in the lineup for about 18 months. The 1000D has been there for well over two and a half years. It's due.

The A350, btw, is a discontinued model. It was replaced by the A380, which in turn was followed by the A390.

Although I don't think the Sony A350 is a great choice, it'll be fine. But we really can't give you good advice without hearing *why* you're "really into" those two particular models.

I should add that the site you've linked to is apparently automated based on a database, and has some weird issues. For example, it says: "Significantly better color depth / 22.6 bits vs 22 bits / Distinguishes more than 50% more colors". This is based on the DXOmark sensor ranking (not on a specification or any actual number of bits), and DXOmark says "A color sensitivity of 22bits is excellent, differences below 1 bit are barely noticeable."
